The Faculty of Electrical Engineering will use Volkswagen e-Golf for one year
Representatives of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEL) took over the Volkswagen e-Golf electric vehicle on the day of the 6th Smart City Pilsen discussion forum. Porsche Czech Republic lent it to the faculty for the yearly testing.
The car manufacturer is a partner of the Smart City program and, by providing an electric car, has decided to appreciate that University of West Bohemia has participated in the Czech Energy Project, Construction, Innovation with the highest number of student projects. The competition is intended, among other things, to support the interest in studying technical fields at universities in the Czech Republic and the Smart City concept. A linking member of the Smart City competition and the conference is TOP EXPO, which organizes the two events in cooperation with partners.
Shortly before the opening of the 6th year of the Smart City discussion forum, which took place on Tuesday, March 13, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Dean Zdeněk Peroutka and the Vice-Dean for Science Jiří Hammerbauer took over the car for a yearly testing. The ceremony was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Development and External Relations Vladimír Duchek and UWB Emeritus Rector Zdeněk Vostracký.
The Faculty intends to use the car for promotional activities both from the point of view of e-mobility and to promote interest in these modern technologies, not only for existing students but also for potential applicants for study at FEL.
