SmartPRO firefighter suit at Scientists' Night
The Regional Innovation Center for Electrical Engineering (RICE) and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen presented their expositions at Night of Scientists which took place on 6 October 2017 and it was the thirteenth year of the popular event of science.
The Regional Innovation Center for Electrical Engineering has presented a smart firefighting suit and professional firefighting technology, developed by RICE employees along with VOCHOC, Holik International, Elitronic and Applycon companies. Visitors had also the opportunity to see the exposition called the Stirling engine and the vacuum bell of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
The researchers from the innovation center explained the function of the smart suit and every interested person could try it on their own. Visitors had also the opportunity to get a lift by the height technique up to forty meters.
The main media partner of the event was Czech Television, which filmed its live reportage at the stand of the firefighting squad. The presentation of the unique suit was summed up by the moderator of the Czech Radio - Radio Junior. The representatives of the interview were members of firefighting squad and doctor Petr Kašpar, the researcher from RICE. The evening's attraction was a firefighting demonstration of smartPRO in practice, where guests were able to see the function of clothing in a fire drill.
